right now i am on the front porch of my favorite place in akron in the stagnate summer air.
its 1:07 in the morning and i am solo, reflecting on the best day i could have asked for.

toast and bananas for breakfast
spf 15 (still not enough)

i'm pretty sure i have had Mates of State Re-arrange Us album on repeat oh for the last two weeks, maybe more. i have a thing for male/female duos because i also can't get ever get enough of Stars or most recently The XX.

not quite yet, but my baby basil plants are making me so happy.
its really difficult to grow herbs in your window sill.

somehow i killed my cilantro.
i am looking forward to putting pesto on just about everything this summer.

the weather has been absolutly amazing here.
my apartment has been hot, mainly because i refuse to turn the air conditioning on. i don't know, something about sweating in your underwear make me feel alive and concious that summer is finally here.
this might change eventually considering i am on the top floor, but for now i am relishing in the sweet heat of summer.

my lovely birthday
i turned 23 yesterday and had the most lovely birthday. i have so many wonderful people in my life and for that i am really grateful.

off to nyc...
in the past year or so i have become the most indecisive person i know. especially when it comes to packing. i never know what my mood is going to be or what i'm going to be doing exactly. everything always changes.
i am off to nyc for a super long weekend. i could cry i am so excited. i needed a proper get-away for a good while coming. i am taking the next 4 days to decompress and spend time with very special members of my family.

i will be looking forward to coming back and celebrating my birthday with my favorites and awesome friends i have met here in the small time i have lived in columbus.
hocking hills
it really is so nice to get away from columbus every now and then. sunday, after a weekend of laying extremely low with dollar movies and english breakfast tea, kayla, em and i headed to the hocking hills for some natural therapy.
i'm lusting.
i have been to anthropologie more times than i would like to admit lately. everytime i go, i can not pull away from this dress. i find myself daydreaming about where i'd wear it, who i'd be with, what perfect accessories to pair it with. its sick.
i am leaving for nyc in a couple days and i am heavily considering scooping her up.
to my mom
my mom is one of the most beautiful, inspiring, caring, giving, and creative people i have ever known. she is and always will be there for me regardless of any situation.
i am who i am today because of her,
and it because of her that i am continually striving to be the best person that i can possibly be.

my dad, mom and brother came into town for the afternoon. after living in columbus for almost a year, i still had never been to Thurman's so it was a perfect opportunity to go!

on my walk to kayla and emilys thursday evening i took the rebel out and snapped some photos.
eggplant parmesan..mm
emily, kayla and i ate at spagio in grandview this past weekend and ordered this amazing eggplant-balsamic pizza. it inspired me to create an eggplant parmesan for dinner on monday.
you'll need:
an large eggplant
olive oil
marinara sauce (i used my homemade)
fresh parmesan cheese
oregano
pepper
mozerella cheese
slice eggplant 1/4" thick
in a big pot, bring water to boil and set in eggplant slices and let stand for 5 minutes.this basically softens the eggplant so it isn't so raw.
put a layer of sauce in marinara at the bottom of a glass dish and nicely layout eggplant slices.
coat with more sauce, parmesan, oregano, pepper and top with mozerella cheese.
i totally over indulged in this but i would offically eat eggplant parmesan over chicken parm anyday.
spring sample sale = success
saturday was the spring anf sample sale. i definietly made out like a bandit, and it did prompt me to go through my closet and get rid of all the clothes that i honestly no longer wear. i made a rule, if i have no worn it in the past year, it has to go.
i still have an overwhelming amount of clothes, and will most definietly always want more.
