team outerwear

the outerwear team is back from production trips! what better way to celebrate but by posting my favorite old highschool picture....of all time.
this is my merchant ryan's senior picture circa 1996.
words can not convey how amazing i think this picture is.

amazing tie.

help!

i was stumbleupon-ing and came across this site

helpineedhelp.com

i love the concept of the product packaging, HOWEVER the real gem of this site is the 'help i'm bored' tab.

go.

thee perfect cut-out cookies

new obsession: cookie cutters!!
nothing like some music, stars, hearts and kisses on a november evening listening to some jams.

look at the lips! i love that.
i am not sure whether i have ever made a better batch of cookies. i dont know whether it was a combination of actually following the reciepe, actually refridgerating the dough over night, or the awesome cookie cutters i bought off high street this weekend, but all in all they came out perfect browned on the underside.
frosting from scratch too!
i brought some into work today, just ate one and personally i think they are better today than they were yesterday. weird.

sunday rituals

my favorite view on a sunny sunday morning.

i sit here at my kitchen table, listen to music, sip on coffee in my anthropologie mug and read Sunday Secrets on PostSecret.

The life of a kitchen table:

it would be amazing to hear what my kitchen would have to say about my life and those close to it. I inherited this table after my grandmother passed away two summers ago. it spent the year in kent for my last semester of college and lived through everything we went through that year, good times and bad.

rit dye catastrophes, coffee and countless conversations before class, barbecue chips and cottage cheese at 3 am, sour cream, basil and pretzels, lots of wine, lots of laughter.

this kitchen table was there for my when I cried for the first time in 9 months.

my friend Darren posted a blog entry about things that define us. I got to thinking about what the hell defined me. Sounds strange that a kitchen table would define a person. Although many other things molded me into the person I am today, but I definitely learned a lot about myself and life at this kitchen table. i can only hope to learn more as this kitchen table has made the transition to real life with me.

i dedicate this post to Kayla- the best friend i have ever had and maybe the only person who might understand this post.

passive aggressive notes cont.

continuing this passive aggressive topic, my friend Laura sends me this text explaining how there is this notebook at the bar she works at in Vegas where people can write down their frustrations etc.

These notebook entries are hilarious.

vacuum-put-away procedure?

OK.

the funniest part about this while journal entry is that she then writes to me, "It was my fault. I was unaware of the vacuum put away procedure."

one of my favorite sites is passiveaggressivenotes.com so the story behind the above note is VERY amusing to me.

the note above was taped on my co-workers Katie's front door yesterday morning when she got back from the gym.

first, i think it is ridiculous to post notes on front doors in general, but it is also ridiculous to write a note, post it on someone front door making accusations and not even sign a name or even an apartment number.
and yowling? that's not even a word!
oh, Katie doesn't have a dog.

happy ketchup packets

how cute.

i think maybe we should all take a break ever once and a while and appreciate the small things that surround us...

like happy ketchup packets.

fancy toms

i do own a pair of toms, and i have been chewing on buying other pair for a while now. i was flipping through teen vogue today at work and came upon THESE.

i feel like you either love these or hate them.

i love them.

the gold ones are my personal favorite.

silver is also super cute.

i proceeded to go online and rummage the rest of the site and found some other gems....

you can wear them with shoelaces but i think they look better without them.

lovin on the cream to tobacco color scheme.

again, i just think shoelaces on these would be wrong.

and look at the boot!

good cause too.

definitely took some warming up for me, but the new lady gaga video is amazing.

This morning at work, we obsessed over the Alexander McQueen runway pieces she wore.
The more and more I watch it, the more and more I think that this video is super creative when usually I think that Lady Gaga anymore is over the top in a way that strays from creativity and just reads 'disaster'.

um, amazingly ridiculous.

speaking from experience, it is an amazing song to work out to.

it is also worth mention she also has shots in this video where she looks really pretty and natural.
