memorial day hipstamatic prints

i am thinking now, that every weekend since the weather got nice i have gone on a hot dog/hamburger binge. memorial day weekend was no different, if not worse.
i documented the process on my iphone.

yes, i like alot of ketschup.

memorial day weekend.

my favorite photos i took from memorial day weekend.

my favorite photos from the weekend.

weekend.

right now i am on the front porch of my favorite place in akron in the stagnate summer air.
its 1:07 in the morning and i am solo, reflecting on the best day i could have asked for.

hot dogs and smores on the muskingum river
falling asleep by the fire despite horrific allegories to everything in the air
waking up to closest of friends
toast and bananas for breakfast
spf 15 (still not enough)
coors light before 11am
tubing down the river - 10 tubes tied together
more coors light
donating my favorite sunglasses the bottom of the river somehow
three hour naps in the sun (post hot dog)
really long car rides to the northeast
sushi
cracking aloe leaves to help my poor sunburnt skin

mm and i have two more days of the weekend left.

smiling all the time.

(picture by me, taken in emily and kaylas back patio)
the weather has been absolutly amazing here.
my apartment has been hot, mainly because i refuse to turn the air conditioning on. i don't know, something about sweating in your underwear make me feel alive and concious that summer is finally here.
this might change eventually considering i am on the top floor, but for now i am relishing in the sweet heat of summer.

my lovely birthday

i turned 23 yesterday and had the most lovely birthday. i have so many wonderful people in my life and for that i am really grateful.

(best baklava thus far in columbus, buckeye donuts)

some of the highlight of my day include

the baklava waiting at my desk in the morning.
the party they threw at work for me.
the beautiful tulips.
the bamboo plant deanna gave me.
all the phone calls, texts and messages i got.
the amazing night i had with my friends.

thanks :)

hocking hills

it really is so nice to get away from columbus every now and then. sunday, after a weekend of laying extremely low with dollar movies and english breakfast tea, kayla, em and i headed to the hocking hills for some natural therapy.

sippin on some sunshine

kayla and i ran home friday night for two specific things:
to see our friends play in thier band Human Nature for the Midwest Reggae Festival in Kent
to finally get my car fixed.

(rittman diner taken with shakeit)
my car had an appointment at 745am so we decided to get some good ol fashion breakfast at the local dinner. i have to say it was one of the most inexpensive, delicious breakfasts i have had.

wednesdays with favorites

at some point in the week k and em come over and we have family dinner and catch up on tv shows we love.
kayla had the genius idea of making stuffed peppers for dinner, so i let her have at it.
she even got to use my brand new tongs i got from ikea last weekend!

they were AMAZING.

em took care of the cookies.
:)

whirlwind weekend

action packed weekend.
contents:
(couple hours in ikea for nessesary things to finish a project)

(hofbrauhaus in ky for hannah koresky's going away gathering)

(ordered beers the size of our heads)

(no joke)

(saw the big pink play in concert sunday night followed by post show play time at bodega)

in additional to all the running around, we managed to go to two different gaberial brothers in cinci. got my hands on some dirt cheap finds from urban and anthro yay!

sunday night creations

i spent sunday evening on clark place watching em make the perfect batch of chocolate chip cookies, and hanging out with kayla and darren while they made us all gormet pizzas.

(ems chocolate cookies)

(parmesan basil crust/red sauce/fresh motzerla/tomatoe/asparagus/spinach pizza)

(tribute to becca ciacchi- naan bread/cream cheese/crab meat and provolone cheese)

we all have a pretty strong addiction to anything niptuck. last winter break when i was still in college i think i watched the entire series in one month. emily just did the same thing. and now, i don't think we can go anywhere in public without em thinking she sees someone from niptuck.

the point i had from that mini story was that after dinner, we watched The Stepfather, starring who else but "Sean McNamara". originially a thriller from 1987, the 2009 remake was pretty good. definietly stressed me out though. good redbox buy.
